Lineage Percussion wins bronze at 2016 Fischoff

The Fischoff National Chamber Music Association sponsors the nation's largest chamber music competition at Notre Dame University. Congratulations to Hugh Hodgson School of Music students Trevor Barroero, Lauren Floyd, and Wesley Sumpter, also known as Lineage Percussion, who were named the bronze medalist of the 2016 Fischoff Competition. They are the first percussion ensemble in the 43-year history of Fischoff to be a finalist in the senior division of the competition.

The students report via email:

Audience members told us that our performance was something they will "not soon forget".  We left our mark at Notre Dame this year, presenting a program that was not only diverse and unique, but it was a program that honored the new music of the special composers we have been fortunate to work with these past several months.

Fantastic! Our students continue to astound. We are very proud of you and this wonderful stop on your musical journey. Congratulations - a great way to finish the semester.
