Congratulations to our newest alumni today as 1,649 undergraduates and 1,108 graduate students—for a total of 2,757— walk in the university's fall Commencement ceremonies:

Franklin College senior associate dean Hugh Ruppersburg delivered the keynote address at the department of theatre and film studies commencement ceremony last week. On Friday morning and afternoon, more than two thousand undergraduate and graduate students will walk in the fall UGA Commencement ceremonies:

The undergraduate Commencement ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. in Stegeman Coliseum, and tickets are required. The graduate ceremony will follow at 2:30 p.m.

Amazing. Today is the day - the culmination of so many individual, familial and collective efforts. It's why all the buildings are here and the reason we need a word for 'campus.' The desks and chairs, the technology and the books, the assembly of learning and the skill to share it all present together in the diplomas that will be handed out this evening in that edifice normally reserved for contests of will and strength. Today and this evening, it will witness the celebration of actual strength and true triumphs of will. Graduation.
