CORE Concert Dance Company 2004 China
Tour
The CORE Concert Dance Company 2004 China Tour was
invited and hosted by the US-China Cultural & Educational
Foundation, Song Yang Vice President and coordinator
of the tour. CORE performed throughout China May 12-29, 2004. CORE's
concert performances were held in cities with populations ranging
7.9 to 17 million people. Attended by over 10,000 people, audience
viewers included several Chinese government officials representing
various regions of the country.
Pictures, interviews and concert
review articles appeared in major city newspapers. The company
met with Richard Riley, UGA alum serving as First Secretary at the
US Embassy in Beijing. John Loutin, Chengdu Consulate Press and
Cultural Affairs, attended a CORE performance and banquet, arranged
by the mayor of Chengdu.
In addition to seven main stage performances,
the company performed at several schools in Beijing, Huizhou,
Chengdu and Zengzhou, and exchanged performances with dance students
from the International Performance College of Sichuan Conservatory.

Beijing International Arts Festival, Huizhou Performing Arts Stadium
Municipal Theater of Daya Bay, Chengdu Municipal Convention Center
and Arts Theater (two performances, televised) Performing Arts Theater
of the Sichuan International Dance Conservatory ( Chengdu )
and the Zhengzhou Municipal Performing Artist's Theater. |
