Emma

Danita Emma a former native of Binghamton, resides
in Atlanta, Georgia where she has been teaching, coaching,
and choreographing ballet for the Atlanta Ballet Center for
Dance Education, North Atlanta Dance Academy, Peachtree City
Dance, Brenau University, and throughout the Atlanta and Southeast
region. She most recently taught and adjudicated the national
audition tour for the Oakland Ballet. Ms. Emma's early ballet
training began with Thelma Morris, and continued at the Pennsylvania
Ballet, Boston Conservatory of Music, American Ballet Theater,
and Madame Gabrielle TaubDarvash. In 2001 she completed a
BFA degree in Dance from Brenau University. Ms. Emma was part
of the Southern Tier community for over twenty years as Artistic
Director of the Whitney Center for Dance: training students
and producing professional dance in the area. She was awarded
the J.F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts / N.Y. State
Alliance for the Arts Education Award of outstanding contribution
to the arts and education. Still contributing to the area,
Ms. Emma is the Artistic Director for Binghamton University
Summer Dance Institute.
