Cathy
graduated from the University of Georgia with a BSED in Art
Education, then furthered her studies in scientific illustration.
She has worked as a potter and scientific illustrator, and
also as an art instructor for the Athens Academy upper school.
Throughout her life, Cathy has always had a great interest
in the movement and health of the human body and for the past
20 years has studied and taught many movement therapies.
She
has been certified through AFAA, IDEA, and the Physical Mind
Institute to instruct many mind/body disciplines including
pilates and yoga. She has taught for the University of Georgia
in instructional and aerobic programs since 1996 and currently
works with the UGA Swim Team and the Department of Dance.
She
works both privately and in group settings with a range of
bodies from Olympic athletes to the elderly. Cathy has written,
produced and preformed in several pilates matwork videos and
continues to study under various yoga and meditation masters.
Cathy’s vision is to share what she has found… a
depth of wisdom in the human body, a genuine source of enlightenment
when listened to. It is our connection to this physical world,
our foundation, the home of our dance.
