The University of Georgia Department of Dance provides specialized career training in Performance & Choreography and Teacher Certification. We strive to instill a sound foundation of guided practice in the disciplines and principles of the classical ballet, modern, postmodern, jazz, and ballroom techniques. It is our desire that each student obtain intellectual, aesthetic and physical benefits through individual, collaborative and group experiences. Our performance companies are designed to challenge gifted undergraduate students, preparing them for professional careers in the field of dance. Choreographic opportunities are provided to nurture creativity, skills and craftsmanship in each individual's pursuit of the art of making dance.
