Area Fund Name and Description
African American Studies Institute for African American Studies Fund - To support the activities of the Institute for African American Studies.
African Studies Institute Darl and Florence Snyder African Studies Fund - To support the African Studies program. Expenses may include, but not be limited to, special equipment, software, educational materials, honoraria for seminar speakers, entertainment, and travel.
Kids' Imaginations Unleashed African Resources Team Fund - To provide support for the UGA Kids' Imaginations Unleashed African Resource Team Outreach Project. The type of support shall include, but not be limited to, travel, publications, honoraria and other expenses associated with the outreach project(s) in Tanzania and other locations in Africa involving academic, ecological, art related, medical related and community improvement efforts.
Animal Resources
Center
Animal Resources Center Support - To provide support for the Animal Resources Center. This support may include, but not be limited to, honoraria for seminar speakers, special equipment, software, educational materials, entertainment, student and/or faculty travel and educational outreach projects.
Anthropology Anthropology Development Fund - To promote faculty development and to provide for other educational and research needs of the faculty and students of the department of anthropology as determined by the department head.
Gumbert Memorial Fund in Archeological Field Studies - The purposes are: 1) to support undergraduate students who are enrolled in the archeology field school, or its equivalent, by means of financial awards and 2) to support individual undergraduate student field research projects.
Melissa Hague Field Study Award - To support expenses of off-campus field work by anthropology students (graduate or undergraduate) which shall be limited to travel, lodging, and expenses directly related to the project.
Lamar Dodd
School of Art

Dr. Helen Elizabeth Bailey Art Scholarship Fund – This scholarship was established to honor talented artist and dedicated teacher, Libby Bailey. Libby earned three degrees from the Lamar Dodd School of Art: BFA 1974, MFA 1976 and Ph.D. 1992. Libby is currently Chair of the Department of Art at Wesleyan College in Macon. This scholarship will be awarded each year to either an art history or painting and drawing major enrolled at the Lamar Dodd School of Art.

Alex Heller Student Award Fund – This new support fund was established by the family of Alex Heller, an artist who attended the Lamar Dodd School of Art from 1985 until 1989. The Alex Heller Student Award Fund will be awarded to a student currently enrolled as an art major at the Lamar Dodd School of Art.
Judy Voss Jones Cortona Art Scholarship Fund – This scholarship honors Judy Jones (MFA 1976, BFA 1972). The Judy Voss Jones Cortona Art Scholarship will support a graduate painting and drawing student who is accepted to the Cortona Studies Abroad Program.
Del Martin Amica Di Cortona Scholarship Fund – To establish a scholarship to support a maximum of 3 students per year accepted to the Cortona Studies Abroad Program.
Shouky Shaheen Lecture Fund in Art – This lecture fund will bring to campus an internationally or nationally recognized artist or scholar distinguished in his or her field to present a lecture at the Lamar Dodd School of Art each year.
Betty C. Cabin Scholarship - To provide financial aid in the form of scholarships to worthy students majoring in any program in the school of art and who are regularly enrolled on a full-time basis at the University of Georgia.
C. Clifton Chandler Memorial Scholarship Fund - To award an annual scholarship or scholarships to rising seniors majoring in graphic design.
Albert Christ-Janer Scholarship Fund - To provide annual scholarships to students in art who possess an outstanding character, proven academic and professional records, and a financial need.
Cortona Scholarship Fund - To provide scholarship support for students from Cortona, Italy, who are enrolled at the University of Georgia. These scholarships will be awarded as an expression of gratitude to the citizens of Cortona for their support of the UGA studies abroad program.
Cortona Program Fund - To provide support for the purchase of the Casa di Reposo, programmatic expenses and maintenance of the facilities, including but not limited to scholarships, travel, special events, honoraria, equipment, books, supplies, building expenses, renovation and landscape improvements.
Rachel Sharp Decosimo Art Scholarship- To provide financial assistance to out-of-state students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees in art in the Lamar Dodd School of Art. Consideration will be based upon, but not limited to, academic achievement, financial need, and demonstrated talent and promise.
Lamar Dodd School of Art Development Fund - To support instructional programs in the School of Art. This may include, but is not limited to, operating supplies and expenses not covered by state funds, travel, equipment, and entertainment.
Vince Dooley Scholarship for the Arts - To provide financial aid in the form of scholarships to needy and worthy students majoring in the visual arts who are regularly enrolled on a full-time basis in the school of art at the University of Georgia.
Lamar Dodd School of Art Scholarship Fund - To provide financial assistance to students in the visual arts.
C. Clifton Chandler Memorial Fund - The purpose is to award an annual scholarship or scholarships to rising seniors majoring in graphic design.
John D. Kehoe Cortona Program Scholarship - To recognize and assist deserving students by providing a scholarship to be given for the academic term that the student is enrolled in the UGA studies abroad program in Cortona, Italy.
Kuzmicki-McCutchen Memorial Scholarship - To be awarded to the winner of a competition among high school seniors.
Friends of Cortona - To support activities of the Cortona program through financial aid to students, providing lectures, workshops, and supplies and equipment.
Jack Davis Distinguished Visiting Artist Fund - To bring a leading artist, designer, or illustrator to the UGA campus annually for a visit to give a public lecture and to conduct workshops and/or seminars with students in the Lamar Dodd School of Art.
Lamar Dodd Professorial Chair in Art - To provide a salary supplement as well as to provide to the holder other necessary support services including funds for moving and travel, operating supplies and expense, equipment, etc.
Hodgson-Dodd Fund for the Arts or Music - For the promotion of education by the University of Georgia in the fields of music and visual arts for the benefit of the state of Georgia and its people and others.
W. Robert Nix Art Education Award - To recognize and assist deserving art education students by an award.
Charlene Kaufman Memorial/Textile Study Collection Fund - To support the Textile Study Collection in the School of Art through purchase of historic and ethnic textiles, necessary equipment and related expenditures.
Patrik Thomas Keim Memorial Award - To provide an award to graduate or undergraduate students majoring in ceramics in the Lamar Dodd School of Art. Selection will be based on artistic creativity, academic achievement, and a faculty letter of recommendation.
Dorothy H. McRae Ceramic Arts Scholarship Fund - To provide scholarships for outstanding graduate students in the ceramics area of specialization within the Lamar Dodd School of Art.
Mary Rosenblatt Graduate Awards in Art - To provide scholarship support to graduate students in the school of art who are enrolled toward graduate degrees in art education or in studio work.
Mary Rosenblatt Art Scholarship Fund - Established in 1941 by Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Rosenblatt in memory of their daughter who was a member of the faculty of the University's school of art. The income from the fund shall be used to aid needy and worthy students in the art school at the University.
Ann Orr Morris Memorial Fund - To provide resources for a lecture and/or workshop program to enrich the jewelry/metalwork (particularly silver smithing) program of the art school of the University of Georgia.
Study Abroad Program - Japan - To give an award to a student(s) on the basis of financial need and academic merit, and other support of the program. Awards will be used to offset expenses such as travel, equipment, supplies, etc., related to this art program.
Conrad Bell Memorial Scholarship Fund - To provide scholarship(s) for students pursuing degrees in the Lamar Dodd School of Art. Selection criteria is based upon academic excellence and professional promise in art.
Mike Nicholson Painting and Drawing Study in Cortona Award Fund - To provide awards for School of Art students in the area of painting and drawing, who will participate in the UGA Studies Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy.
W. Robert Nix Awards of Excellence in Art Education Fund - To provide financial assistance for graduate students in art education in the School of Art. Recipients must exemplify the qualities that characterized Dr. W. Robert Nix - compassion, honesty, generosity, and willingness to care for and about students.
W. Robert Nix Photography Support Fund - To provide financial support to undergraduate classes in the photography department of the School of Art. Recipients must exhibit the characteristics of Dr. Nix including, but not limited to, a strong work ethic, love for the art of photography, and possess a caring nature for fellow students and faculty.
Whitehead Graduate Scholarship Fund - To support a graduate student at the Dodd School of Art. The student must be in good academic standing, maintain exemplary standards of good conduct, and in their first year of graduate school.
Artificial Intelligence Center Artificial Intelligence Education Support Fund - To provide support for the Artificial Intelligence Center. Expenses may include, but not be limited to, special equipment, software, educational materials, honoraria for seminar speakers, entertainment, and travel for students and faculty.
Arts and Sciences
Special Programs
Arts and Sciences Development Fund - To provide discretionary support for the College of Arts and Sciences external affairs programming. Support areas will include development, alumni relations, and public information, as well as discretionary needs for the Dean of the College. The type of support shall include, but not be limited to, travel, events, receptions, publications, and other general operating expenses.
Franklin College Creative Arts & Humanities Fund - Established in 1983 to provide resources to encourage the creation and/or production of work in visual arts, drama, music and literature. Income from the endowment will be used by the Dean of the Franklin College to encourage and stimulate programs and individuals in the above areas.
Franklin Fellows Support Fund - The purpose is to support the Franklin Fellows. Expenses may include, but not be limited to, special equipment, software, educational materials, honoraria for seminar speakers, entertainment, and travel.

Georgia Power Professorship in Biotechnology Fund – To support the research of an outstanding Franklin College Professor in the area of biotechnology.

Ramsey GRA Eminent Scholar Chair in Microbial Physiology - To provide a microbial physiology chair within the college of Arts and Sciences.
Rufus K. and Jane Green Graduate Assistantship Scholarship Fund – To provide a fellowship to a graduate student in the Franklin College .

Hamilton E. Holmes Professorship Fund – To support the academic work of an outstanding Professor in the Franklin College.

Center for Latin American & Carribean Studies - To support the Center for Latin American & Carribean Studies (CLACS). This support shall include incidental and essential expenses, such as entertaining guest speakers, visitor's travel, and other expenses relating to the programs and activities of CLACS.
Chelsea Montgomery Machemehl Scholarship Fund - To provide a scholarship to a student in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. The recipient will be determined by the Dean of the College. Preference will be given to a student who has had leukemia, if no such student is available, then the scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student in the College.
M.G. Michael Award Fund - To provide an annual award from income to a member of the faculty for excellence in research.
Sam & Grace Murray Scholarship Fund - Established in 1982 to provide scholarships for undergraduate students in the Franklin College of Arts & Sciences. Selection will be based equally on academic achievement and financial need.
Gwinn Henry Nixon Scholarship Fund - To provide a scholarship to a graduate of Augusta College pursuing a graduate degree in the College of Arts and Sciences or in the School of Law at the University of Georgia. Selection criteria shall be intelligence, character, scholarship, personality, and manner of the recipient. Need shall be considered, but is not a prerequisite to eligibility.
Charles Ivey Patterson, Jr. Memorial Scholarship - To provide scholarship support to student(s) enrolled in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Selection will be based on overall character, merit, and financial need, not high scholastic standing.
Charles Ivey Patterson, Sr. Memorial Scholarship - The purpose is to provide scholarship support to student(s) enrolled in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Selection will be based on overall character, merit, and financial need, not high scholastic standing.
Mary Sue Thompson Patterson Memorial Scholarship Fund - To provide scholarship support to student(s) enrolled in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Selection will be based on overall character, merit, and financial need, not high scholastic standing.
Willie Anne Rowe Patterson Memorial Scholarship Fund - To provide scholarship support to student(s) enrolled in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Selection will be based on overall character, merit, and financial need, not high scholastic standing.
William F. Prokasy Professorship in Arts - To provide a support fund for a professor in the area of art, music, drama, or dance.
Grady E. Rozar Scholarship Fund - To establish a scholarship in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. The student shall be selected by a faculty committee appointed by the Dean of the College and based on need as determined by student financial aid and academic merit as determined by the faculty committee.
Southern Studies Fund - To provide support for operating costs of the Southern Studies Program in the office of the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at UGA.
UGA-Earth College Exchange Program Fund - To support the UGA-Earth faculty/student exchange program. Support shall include, but not be limited to, travel, supplies, and equipment.
Charles H. Wheatley Professorship in Arts - To establish a professorship in arts in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.
Jo Ann Terry Walker Scholarship - To provide a scholarship(s) to an undergraduate or graduate student(s) majoring in art, music, or drama. Selection criteria will be based on academic achievement and, while any student is eligible to apply, preference will be given to, but not limited to, females who are 35 years of age or older.
Abraham Baldwin Professorship in Humanities Fund - To provide a professorship in humanities within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.
Franklin Alumni Relations and Annual Giving Support Fund - To support the alumni relations and annual giving programs in the Franklin College by providing funding for events, publications, and contact with alumni and friends. Expenses may include, but not be limited to, phonathon costs, printing, photography, postage, educational materials, equipment, honoraria for seminar speakers, event costs, entertainment, travel, and other alumni related activities.
Franklin College Student Ambassadors Fund - To provide support for the Franklin College Student Ambassadors program. The type of support shall include, but not be limited to, travel, entertainment, events, receptions, honoraria, publications, and other expenses associated with the program.
Franklin Residential College Support Fund - To support the establishment and programming of the Franklin Residential College. Expenses may include, but not be limited to, honoraria for seminar speakers, concert costs, entertainment, special equipment, software, educational materials, and other academic enhancement activities.
Latin American Ethnobotanical Garden Endowment Fund - To maintain and continue the development of the UGA Latin American Ethnobotanical Garden at UGA. Expenses may include, but are not limited to, supplies, equipment, garden-related travel, stipends, plant purchases, and expenditures related to events held in or involving the Garden.

Center for Asian Studies University of Georgia Friends of India - To provide support for bringing an understanding of Indian thought, languages, and culture into the community and the classroom. Support shall include, but not be limited to, travel, events, receptions, honoraria, lecture series or concerts, film screenings, scholarship awards, publications, and other expenses associated with Indian programs.

Molecular Biology
Biochemistry Seminar Enrichment Fund - To provide an endowment to enrich seminar programs and to cover total program support of the Department of Biochemistry.
Eminent Scholars Chair in Biotechnology Fund - To provide a chair in biotechnology at the University of Georgia.
Heather C. Wright Cancer Research Fund - To support creative basic science research which is targeted to discovering a cure for cancer.
GRA Eminent Scholar Chair in Structural Biology X-Ray Crystal - To establish a chair in Structural Biology.

Sarah P. and George E. Mudter Professorship in Cancer Research Fund - To establish a Professorship in cancer research.

Biological Sciences Biology Department Fund - To provide funding to enhance the activities of the Biology Department.
Cellular Biology Cellular Biology Department Fund - The purpose of the fund is to enhance departmental research activities and graduate training in the broad areas of molecular biology and cellular physiology at the direction of the cellular biology department head. Funds may be used for, but not limited to, supplemental travel funds for professors and students for conferences, honoraria for seminar speakers, entertainment of visiting scholars, funding retreats for faculty and students, etc.
Hope T. Ritter Cellular Biology Lecture Fund - To enable the cellular biology department to invite a well-known, well-regarded scientist to speak at UGA each year as the Hope T. Ritter cellular biology lecturer.
Chemistry Norman L. Allinger Chemistry Support Fund - To benefit the chemistry department for purposes which include, but are not limited to, student support (such as fellowships), salaries of technical personnel, and normal expenses for supplies and equipment used in research.
Chemistry Department Fund - To be used for the general benefit of the chemistry department and its programs.
Pamela Ann Henkel Memorial Scholarship - Established in 1981 to provide a scholarship fund for undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need who are excelling in organic chemistry in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. Demonstrated financial need will be based on criteria established from time to time by the office of financial aid.
Organometallic Chemistry Discretionary Fund - To provide discretionary funds to be used to promote the mission and programs of the chemistry department in general, and the field of organometallic chemistry in particular.
L.B. Rogers Lectureship on Frontiers in Analytical Chemistry - To provide resources for a lecture program to enrich the academic program of the chemistry department. Funds may be used to cover various expenses which may arise in connection with holding the lecture.
Buck Rogers Research Award in Chemistry - To award an annual financial prize for the best research project by an undergraduate student in the chemistry department.
Alfred W. Scott, Sr. Memorial Scholarship Fund - Established in 1974 by Mrs. Scott in memory of her husband to provide a scholarship for a chemistry major and, where possible, preference to be given to a senior student majoring in organic chemistry.
Thomas H. Whitehead Lecture Fund in Chemistry - To provide resources for a lecture program to enrich the academic program of the chemistry department of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.
Lockhart B. Rogers Scholarship - To provide scholarships to graduate students pursuing a degree in analytical chemistry in the department of chemistry.
Thomas H. Whitehead Scholars in Chemistry - To provide merit-based support for students in the chemistry department. This support shall include, but not be limited to, academic scholarships, research assistantship awards, student travel awards, and other enhancements to either undergraduate or graduate students' education.

Paul Schleyer Computational Chemistry Support Fund – To support the Center for Computational Chemistry within the Franklin College.

Classics James W. Alexander - To provide support to a variety of departmental programs, activities, and resources.
Edward E. Best, Jr. Award - To provide an award to undergraduate students majoring in Latin or Greek. The award is intended to cover the recipient's tuition and fees and is not intended to cover travel or other miscellaneous expenses.
Richard A. LaFleur Summer Teacher Scholarship - To provide scholarship assistance to Latin teachers working to upgrade certification through the classics department's summer certification program.
Linda J. Piper Award for Study Abroad - To provide an award of at least $500 to defray expense for an undergraduate major or graduate student in the classics department or history department to study abroad.
David L. Thompson Studies Abroad in Classics Scholarship - To provide scholarship(s) for students pursuing study abroad in classics.
Warlick-Mannion Scholarship - To establish the Warlick-Mannion scholarship fund to allow scholarship stipends to be paid to students minoring in classics as well as those majoring in classics.
Comparative Literature Asian Languages Program Fund - To support the Asian languages program in the comparative literature department. Expenses may include, but not be limited to special equipment, software, educational materials, honoraria for seminar speakers, entertainment, and travel.
Comparative Literature Discretionary Fund - To further the study of comparative literature by making funds available for: honoraria for guest lecturers, supplementing travel expenses for faculty members invited to deliver papers at professional meetings, and entertainment expenses for lecturers, consultants, and other visitors here on a professional basis.
Center for Computational
Quantum Chemistry
Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry Fund - To provide general operational chemistry support for the Center for Computational Quantum Chemistry.
Computer Science Computer Science Development Fund - To support the activities of the computer science department including the purchase of library materials.
Computer Science Faculty Support Fund - To support the computer science department. Expenses may include, but not be limited to, special equipment, software, educational materials, honoraria for seminar speakers, entertainment, and travel.
Criminal Justice Criminal Justice Program Discretionary Fund – To support the mission of the Criminal Justice Program by providing funds to be used for travel and entertainment, equipment and/or other uses determined appropriate by the Director of the Program.
Sherry Lyons-Williams Scholarship Fund - To provide scholarship support for deserving students in the Criminal Justice Studies Program.
Will Bush Student Professional Development Fund – To provide professional student involvement for criminal justice students within the Criminal Justice Studies Program. The fund will reimburse students for the costs involved with participating in professional conferences, field trips and development programs and will be used to cover the expenses, such as travel, transportation, lodging, registration fees and meals associated with participation in professional organization events.

Kenneth M. McCarthy Criminal Justice Scholarship Fund – To provide scholarship support for student(s) in the Criminal Justice Studies Program.

Dance

Ethel Tison Chaffin Dance Fund – For the enhancement of instruction in the art of dance in the Department of Dance.

Friends of Dance Fund – To provide funding to pay expenses related to the programs of the Department of Dance, including associated public relations expenses.
Cynthia Jarvis Memorial Scholarship Fund – To establish a scholarship for dance majors in the Department of Dance.
Lucy Lampkin Dance Scholarship Endowment Fund – To provide scholarship support for students majoring in dance at the University of Georgia.
Drama and Theatre Drama Department Fund - Established in 1982 to support the department of drama, Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, and to sponsor programs approved by a drama department committee. Programs can consist of scholarships, loans, faculty travel, awards and award functions, faculty and student recruitment.
Georgia Repertory Theatre Fund - The purpose is to support the Georgia Repertory Theatre. This shall include support for visiting playwrights to the theatre.
Leighton M. Ballew Lecture Series - To support a lecture series within the Franklin College that will, in alternate years, be arranged by the department of English and the department of drama.
South Asian Studies Program Support Fund - To support expenses related to the South Asian Studies program within the department of drama and theatre. These expenses shall include, but not be limited to, publications, travel, honoraria, and seminar expenses.

Eddie Lambeth Scholarship in Acting and Screen Writing Fund - To provide support to an aspiring actor and an aspiring screenwriter or playwright in the Department of Drama.
English Rodney M. Baine Lecture Fund - To create a lecture fund to enrich the department of English of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.
Joshua David Brown Memorial Scholarship - To provide a scholarship to the most outstanding rising Junior in the English department. Selection will be made by a committee appointed by the head of the department and will be based on academic merit.
Calvin S. Brown and Edwin M. Everett Award - To present award(s) to graduate students in the English department. These awards shall be used to attend scholarly and professional meetings.
English Department Fund - To be used by the head of the English department for incidental expenses incurred entertaining official visitors to the University, emergency student loans and honoraria for visiting lecturers, purchase of equipment, supplies and books, travel money for English faculty and other expenses related to the department's research, instruction and public service.
Kilgo-Sapelo Creative Writing Fund - To provide monetary support to students and faculty associated with the creative writing program for expenses that shall include, but not be limited to, honoraria, entertainment, educational materials, software, supplies, travel, and participation in writers conferences and retreats.
Helen Spencer Lanier Chair of English - To provide a faculty salary supplement for a distinguished professor of English and to provide additional benefits and prerequisites, including compensation for research and clerical assistants.
Raven I. McDavid, Jr. Fund for the Linguistic Atlas Project - To support research and projects dealing with American Linguistic Geography.
Robert E. Park Memorial Fund - To honor the former head of the English department by the Class of 1912 under the leadership of Mr. Marvin B. Perry. Approximately $300 is given each year to an outstanding graduate student in English. The fund is also available for any project that benefits the academic program in English.
Joyce and Carol Sterling-Goodman Professorship in English - To establish a professorship in English engaged in teaching, research, public service, or a combination of such duties.
Virginia Rucker Walker Scholarship - To establish a scholarship in the English department. The scholarship shall be based on merit and shall be selected by a committee appointed by the head of the department.
Robert H. West Scholarship Fund - To provide scholarship support for outstanding students in the English department.
John Olin Eidson Chair in American Literature - Established in 1980 to create an endowment fund to establish a chair in American Literature within the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.
Barbara Lester Methvin Distinguished Professorship in Southern Literature - To establish the Barbara Lester Methvin Distinguished Professorship in Southern Literature to be engaged in teaching, research, public service, or a combination of such duties.

Jane Appleby Fellowship in English Fund - To establish a fellowship for a graduate student(s) in the Department of English.

Hugh Kenner Professorship Fund – To support travel and further research for an assistant or associate professor of English who embodies the wide-ranging interests, creative energy, and intellectual ambition of Hugh Kenner.
Genetics Georgia Genetics Fund - To provide support in the form of honoraria for seminar visitors, travel, entertainment, equipment, supplies, scholarships and fellowships, teaching awards and other such programs approved by the genetic department executive committee.
Norman and Doris Giles Genetics Endowment Fund – To support academic and research endeavors within the Department of Genetics.
Lois K. Miller Genetics Fund - To provide support for genetics graduate fellowships, honoraria for seminar lecturers, travel funds for faculty and prospective faculty and staff members, teaching awards, undergraduate and graduate awards, and other such programs and awards.

Scholarship assistance is provided to defray expenses of tuition, general fees, and room and board. David Crenshaw Barrow Fund - Established in 1959 by class members and friends of David C. Barrow in order to supplement the compensation of a professor who teaches the subject of mathematics at the University of Georgia upon his/her selection as the David C. Barrow Professor.

School of Music Pierce Arant Memorial Choral Fund - To provide student awards and to provide general support to the choral activities program in the School of Music. Jan Fowler Cross Piano Scholarship Fund - To provide financial support to talented and deserving piano students at the University of Georgia. Scholarship awards will be made annually to entering or regularly enrolled music students whose concentration is piano. $300 of the income will go annually to the membership of Iota Zeta Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota to be used to supplement existing and/or additional awards.

Psychology Boardman-Forehand-Jackson Award in Clinical Psychology - Established in 1978 by Mrs. Boardman as a memorial to Dr. William K. Boardman. The purpose is to provide an annual award to a student in clinical psychology and to provide outside resource persons to assist with training in the clinical psychology program. It may also provide an award(s) to deserving faculty members in the clinical psychology program.
Charles L. Darby Award - Established in 1974 to provide an annual award to one of the department's graduate assistants in recognition of outstanding teaching contributions in the department of psychology.
William T. James Fund - To provide for an award to the outstanding senior undergraduate major in psychology. Another purpose shall be the occasional purchase of equipment or supplies for instruction in psychological research.
Psychology Development Fund - To promote academic and professional development by providing support for lectures, awards, travel, seminars, equipment, supplies, entertainment, and other expenditures that support the educational goals of the psychology department.
Charles D. Smock Fund for Faculty Development - To provide an annual cash award to a promising graduate student in the developmental psychology program who has just completed or is currently working on his/her dissertation.
Florene M. Young Award in Psychology - To provide funding for one or two annual monetary awards for selected students, as well as to provide for the enhancement of exceptional clinical training opportunities.
Applied Psychology Fund - Established in 1980 to cover expenses arising from activities directed at publicizing the applied psychology program and for attracting graduate students to the program. This also includes internship activities, attendance at professional meetings, and to support the development of graduate students in the program.
A.S. Edwards Award - Established in 1956 by the Georgia Chapter of Psi Chi to encourage scholarships and research in the department of psychology by providing an annual award, out of income, for students of high scholastic ability in that department.
