Application Programmer Specialist
Joe holds a Master of Internet Technology degree from the Terry College of Business. This intensive program includes training in networking, coding, system administration and all aspects of project and project personnel management.
Currently Joe is designing and coding Drupal modules to enable specialized tasks on some Franklin College sites, e.g. recital scheduling and accounting functions for the Hugh Hodgson School of Music and content syndication for http://franklin.uga.edu. He has written a suite of PHP object oriented functions to interface with Microsoft Exchange servers. This code has been running for several years and is designed well enough to reuse in multiple projects.
Joe is active in volunteer organizations, notably the Athens Folk Music and Dance Society. He helps to plan and execute the North Georgia Folk Festival each year, and he has served as the president of the Folk Society. He plays folk instruments (fiddle, banjo, guitar, harmonica and concertina) in Athens bands, and, he writes and performs original material in addition to traditional tunes and songs.
