Focused
on a content degree but not sure what you
want to do with it? Considering teaching at
some point in your career?
Want to expand your career options and become more marketable
in your job search?
Then maybe you should consider pursuing a dual
degree!
Perhaps you are already trying to pursue a dual degree on your
own, and need a formalized process to keep you on track?
UGA is now offering
several dual degree
programs between the colleges
of Education and
the Franklin
Arts and Sciences. You may major in mathematics/mathematics
education, biology/science education-biology, history/social
science education,
English/English education, or French, German,
Latin, or Spanish/foreign language education with a minimum of additional
coursework above what one traditional program requires.
In order to pursue a dual degree, you must meet admissions requirements
and be accepted into both majors. The number of hours required for each
dual degree program will vary from 6-26 hours depending on previous coursework
completed. Also, all Franklin College and College of Education requirements
must be met in order to complete both degrees.
Imagine that, graduating with two degrees with as few as six hours of
additional credits if you get started early enough in your college career!
