Faculty Concert: Martha Thomas, piano

Martha Thomas
Ramsey Hall, Performing Arts Center

The theme of this faculty piano recital is "Music Old and New". The three "old" compositions , featuring music by Haydn, Chopian and Albeniz, are all works from Maria Thomas' student days and remain favorites of hers.

The three "new" works include compositions by UGA faculty member Emily Koh, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music bassoon professor William Winstead and Pulitzer-Prize winning composer Melinda Wagner. Not only will attendees be exposed to some new music, but the audience also will get to hear Thomas sing and play inside of the piano.
