Standard Eligibility
Full-time and part-time employees working in
Old College, New College or satellite advising offices are eligible
for accounts. Your account will be removed no longer than 6 weeks
after termination of employment with The Franklin College of Arts & Sciences;
the Systems Group will forward Email messages to another Email address
for up to 6 months. Spouses and siblings of employees are not eligible
for accounts.
* Student worker accounts offer access to network
file and printer resources only; all students are eligible for Email
accounts on arches.
Special Eligibility
All special accounts are temporary and must
be approved by the Systems Group and the Dean.
Accountability and Responsibility

of Georgia Policies on the Use of Computers," visit http://www.uga.edu/~compsec/use.html.
The Franklin College of Arts & Sciences policy borrows much
of its content from the UGA policy; the UGA policy offers greater
detail. The only authorized user of an account is the individual
associated with the user id. Passwords must not be shared. Each
individual is responsible for the proper use of his/her account.
The following actions and activities
violate the computer use policies of The Franklin College of Arts & Sciences
and The University Of Georgia.
- Using computer systems or networks without
proper authorization
- Compromising the security of computer systems
or networks
- Denying or interfering with access to computer
and network resources by authorized users
- Using computer systems and networks for
non-university business
- Misrepresenting your identity or relationship
to the university
- Violating software copyright by using university
computer systems or networks to download, copy, store or install
software that is not specifically licensed for your use
- Modifying the hardware or software configuration
of any university computer system or network resource without
proper authorization.
- Sending fraudulent, harassing or obscene
Email messages
If an individual violates the "The Franklin
College of Arts & Sciences UNIX Account Policy" or "The
University of Georgia Policies on the Use of Computers," his
or her account will subject to suspension or termination.
If an individual is found to be in violation
of state or federal law, his or her account will be revoked and
the proper authorities will be notified.
