Advisement
All UGA students must be advised each semester before registering for the next term’s classes.  Thus, each semester, you will need to schedule an advising appointment to meet with your academic advisor.  Your advisor will review your progress and discuss course options for your degree requirements; you will receive an advisement form with course recommendations. After you have been advised, your advisor will clear you for registration.

Taking Courses as a Transient Student at Another Institution

What must I do to attend another institution as a Transient Student?
If you plan to take courses at another college or university for a semester or two and then have those courses transferred to UGA to count toward your UGA degree requirements, you must complete the following steps:

  • obtain an application for admission from the other institution,

  • apply as a “Transient Student,”

  • submit a request through OASIS in the Request Transcript/Letter of Certification option of the Student Records Main Menu,

  • and, once you have completed your transient course work, submit a written request to the other institution’s Registrar’s Office to send an official transcript to the UGA Office of Undergraduate Admissions, 212 Terrell Hall, UGA, Athens, GA 30602-1633.
