Two University of Georgia students invited to attend microbiology career institute

Athens, Ga. – Adrienne Cottrell and Laura Williams, graduate students at the University of Georgia, attended the Robert J. Kadner Institute for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scientists in Preparation for Careers in Microbiology from July 29 until August 2.

American Society for Microbiology logoThe event, which was sponsored by the American Society for Microbiology, was held at the University of Connecticut in Storrs.

They were among a group of only 27 senior level graduate students and nine postdoctoral students invited to attend the event from across the United States. The institute consisted of hands-on training in grant writing, scientific presentations and scientific communication and ethics.
