Kathy Mengak

Academic Advisor II

Kathy Mengak advises Bachelor of Science students in Russell Hall.  Dr. Mengak began advising for the Franklin College in September 2005.  She has a B.S. in botany and an M.S. and Ph.D. in parks, recreation, and tourism management from Clemson University in South Carolina. 

Before joining the Franklin College advising office, Dr. Mengak taught for fourteen years in the recreation and leisure program at Ferrum College in Virginia.  While not advising, she is completing a book on George Hartzog, a former National Park Service director and the subject of her dissertation.
