Advising Appointment Policies

Cancelling or rescheduling an appointment: Please contact your advisor or the advising department (706-542-1412 option #1) at least 24 hours before your scheduled time.

Missing your appointment: If you do not keep your scheduled advising appointment, you have “no-showed,” and you will not be able to reschedule an appointment. Instead, you can only be advised during your advisor's no-show walk-in times on a first come, first-served basis. You can check your advisor's no-show walk-in times on SAGE When you miss your advising appointment, you risk having to sign up for classes later than your designated registration time, and you are denying fellow students the opportunity to be advised promptly.

If your advisor cancels your appointment:  You will receive an e-mail from the staff of Franklin College Office of Academic Advising the morning of the cancelation with instructions on how to re-schedule your appointment in SAGE, as well as the contact information for the Office of Academic Advising if you would prefer to make your new appointment over the phone. For any further information on canceled appointments please e-mail your advisor.

Tips on Making your Appointment

When making your advising appointment for next semester:

  • Take special care to schedule an appointment that you will remember and have no difficulty keeping.
  • Plan to arrive about 10 minutes before your scheduled time. Remember buses may run slowly, and parking is rarely available.
  • Never make an appointment during a class or immediately before or after a class.
