Michael's responsibilities include developing applications for intranet and internet use, creating and managing databases, and desktop and network support. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia with an AB in Music and a BS in Mathematics, and has also done graduate work in Computer Science. One of the applications he developed has won a national award for innovation in advising technology. He is a board member of the United States PostgreSQL Association.

Michael is an Athens native, and is active in many community organizations.
