(Enrollment Session for UGA Premedical Studies Program)
Date |
Time |
Place |
| Tuesday, September 9th |
3:30pm - 5:30pm |
Pharmacy Building Auditorium |
Dr. Langford and Mrs. Roberts will
be available on the above date and site for introductory
statements regarding the generation of credentials
and application process for medical, dental, optometry,
and podiatry schools. This is intended for any student
who has not met individually with Dr. Langford or Mrs.
Roberts nor attended a similar session previously.
Freshmen and sophomores are encouraged to attend, as
well as new transfer students, postbaccalaureate students,
UGA alumni/ae, and, of course, juniors and seniors,
who, for some reason, have not attended a prior session.
Information sheets will be distributed at this meeting
to allow UGA students to enroll in the UGA Premedical
Studies Program.
Dr. Langford and Mrs. Roberts require that a student attend a full session before meeting with him/her for individual "one on one" appointments,
so that the individual appointment can be tailored more to the student rather
than having to orient the student to the entire process. This should benefit
each individual student greatly as well as allowing the"pre-med" office
to "handle" the expected number of applications anticipated for this year's applicant
cycle. Most UGA premed/predent/preopt students meet with Dr. Langford or Ms.
Roberts once individually during their 3rd year of the typical 4 yr. college
premed curriculum 'plan.' This meeting facilitates the writing of an evaluation
letter by Dr. Langford or Mrs. Roberts on a UGA student applicant to be completed
in May or June at the end of the 3rd year (for mailing with other faculty letters
in the early summer between year 3 and year 4 of a 'typical 4 yr. premed student;
OR approx. 14-15 months before a student wishes to enter a 1st-year medical,
dental, or optometry class).
Three of these 'same content' sessions are typically presented each Fall and
Spring semesters (plus one in the summer term), and usually on different days.
Days, times, and sites, when arranged posted on this site:

Please note availability of information through the premed

and note that the format of this 'info'session is different from the
