CPC Deficiency Requirements

Students admitted to the University in a "provisionary admission" category, i.e. those who did not meet the College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC) requirements in the course areas of science, social science and foreign language, will be required to complete a three or four semester hour course within the area of deficiency in order to remove the CPC deficiency.

Registration Requirements for Deficiency-Removing Courses. While deficiencies in science, social science and foreign language should be satisfied during the student's first semester of enrollment, CPC deficiencies for beginning freshmen must be completed before the student has earned 30 semester hours of college-level credit.

Non-transfer students. Non-transfer students who have earned 30 semester hours of college-level credit and who have not satisfied CPC deficiencies will not be allowed to register for any college-level work unless also registered for the appropriate deficiency-removing course(s)

Transfer students. Transfer students completing high school in Spring 1988 or later, will be subject to CPC requirements unless they have completed 30 semester hours of transfer credit with a minimum 2.0 average.

Course Area Deficiency-Removing Courses.

For a list of deficiency removing courses, grade requirements and information about the relationship to the core curriculum, GPA, and total hours earned see the current OASIS schedule of classes.
