Franklin College Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee

The purpose of the Franklin College Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee is to allocate funds for worthwhile activities/events planned by various Franklin College student clubs and organizations. These funds, allocated by the committee come from student activities' monies. The sum of the student activities' monies is distributed by the University-Wide Allocation Committee to all schools and colleges based on their enrollment. All registered student organizations with ties to any of the academic disciplines within the Franklin College are eligible to request funding from the Franklin College committee.

The committee is made up of mainly Franklin College undergraduates (juniors and seniors) who are selected from the Dean's Advisory Board. Faculty assistance is sought in selecting two graduate students to serve on the committee, since many requests received by the committee are from graduate organizations. The committee is headed by Dr. Michelle Garfield Cook, Associate Dean of the Franklin College. The students take their charges very seriously and have made wise, thoughtful decisions in relation to allocating monies.

The committee funds a variety of academic, cultural and educational programs. The committee is particularly interested in funding activities and programs which are not otherwise available to students on the UGA campus. The committee is also interested in funding interdisciplinary programs which are developed and implemented by student organizations in two or more disciplines on campus and which are open to all interested students, faculty and staff.

For additional information concerning the types of programs that have been funded by the committee, the forms to be completed in making a request, the procedure for submitting the request and other pertinent information, please contact:
