Statement of Interest Essay

• Write at Testing Center in Clark Howell Hall
• 250 word statement about career goals, interests or talents
• Hand write legibly on special prepared form
• Fee $15.00 – time limit one hour
• Evaluation based on writing style & content
• If applying Spring 2004 deadline is January 23

Students applying Spring Semester 2004 have the option of writing the essay before the end of this semester, Fall 2003.

Students are asked to write a 250-word statement regarding their interests,
career goals, or talents in Journalism and Mass Communications. The statement may be general in nature or they may direct it to a particular
area in advertising, journalism, public relations or telecommunications.
The statement will be evaluated for writing style and content.

Students are asked to not write on the back of the form. Pocket dictionaries are available to use as a resource.

The deadline date to write the Statement of Interest is Friday of the second full week of classes of Spring Semester and Fall Semester.
