Deadline to Apply: May 1, 2014

  1. An applicant must be a graduate student in the Franklin College who is in good standing at the time of submission of this application, as well as during any semester he/she is eligible to receive fellowship funds. The selection criteria will be based on the individual’s character, academic achievement, and talent. Application is open to any student who is eligible to apply but preference will be given to those in the areas of Classics, Drama, English, History, or Communication Studies, or who are a graduate of any Arts & Sciences program at Wesleyan College.
  2. A one-page letter of application, which includes educational and career goals, must be submitted along with the attached form.
  3. Two letters of recommendation attesting to an applicant’s personal attributes and/or academic qualifications must accompany the application. These letters are confidential and must be enclosed in sealed envelopes containing the signature of the person making the recommendation across the sealed flap. At least one of the letters must be from a UGA faculty member. The quality of these letters of recommendation is extremely important in this process. The people selected are asked to include in their letters of recommendation their relationship to the applicant and the length of time they have known the applicant. Letters from relatives are discouraged.
  4. If 1-3 above are met, then a student is eligible to be considered for a Fall 2014 and/or Spring 2015 Fellowship. The fellowship is renewable.
