Admission
Students must apply for regular undergraduate admission to the University
of Georgia. Upon admission they are classified as Arts and Sciences-University
Studies students and may enroll in any regular academic offering that
is consistent with their academic programs.
- First-Year Students- To be admitted to University
Studies as a first-year student, students must first apply for regular
admission to the University of Georgia. Eligibiliity requirements
for University Studies are set by the Faculty Admissions Committee
and are generally not as stringent as those for regular admissions.
However, traditional-age students must have completed all College
Preparatory Curriculum requirements in effect at the time of admission.
- Transfer- Most students enter the Unversity
Studies program as first-year students. Occasionally after begin
reviewed for regular admission, transfer students may be recommended
to University Studies to continue their studies.
- Non-Traditional- Students who graduated from
high school five or more years ago, and who have earned fewer than
30 transferable semester hours, are considered non-traditional students.
Students who do not meet regular admission requirements but fit
the definition of non-traditional are considered by the Faculty
Admissions Committee to determine if they qualify for University
Studies.
