Ways to Communicate

The following communication tools are available to faculty, departments and divisions within the college

News Franklin College News
Audience: Prospective students, alumni, faculty/staff, media, development partners
Content: Faculty awards, research findings, research funding, events, faculty in the news, video featuring Franklin students and faculty, issues in higher education, the impact of the liberal arts on society, outreach into the community, visiting artists and scholars

Twitter Franklin College Twitter Feed
Audience: Current and prospective students/ specialty audiences (e.g. those interested in research findings, the arts, etc.)
Content: Taking advantage of the searchable nature of Twitter, all news releases, content for internal publications and mentions of the Franklin College in external media will be posted on Twitter. In addition, the Twitter feed will include informational items for current students, including information about scholarships, changes to curriculum, Blue Card events and closings.

insta Franklin College Instagram
Audience: Current and prospective students/ specialty audiences (e.g. those interested in research findings, the arts, etc.)
Content: The Franklin College Instagram feed features content from our blog including student and faculty profiles, current research and award news, other images and news of interest to current and prospective students, faculty, staff and young alumni. Our Instagram stories present a curated stream of features and information, with a more informal tone, promoting campus events such as concerts, dance and theatre performances and speakers; details and deadlines for scholarships, contests and workshops. Our stories also regularly promote content from our Franklin College Student Ambassadors, as well as profiles on students, alumni and faculty. Contact: Katie Cowart  (klcowart@uga.edu)
Facebook Franklin College Facebook Page
Audience: Current and prospective students, young alumni
Content: Information that is likely to be of interest to current/prospective students (e.g. student profiles, campus scenes and videos) and young alumni (e.g. tailgates, alumni events). The Franklin College Facebook page will offer occasional reminders about scholarships, internship opportunities and study abroad. More detailed information on for students are included on the Franklin College Office of Academic Advising Facebook page.

Linked In Franklin College LinkedIn Page
Audience: Primarily alumni and friends of the college
Content: LinkedIn is a forum that allows alumni to network, but content will also include announcements about alumni events

Digital Signage Digital Signage in Campus Buildings
Audience: Students, faculty/staff
Content: Public events sponsored by units in Franklin College (including Blue Card events) and news from the Franklin Chronicles Blog

UGA News UGA News Service (Columns, UGA.edu)
Audience: Faculty and staff (Columns), faculty/staff and students (UGA.edu)
Content: Faculty profiles, news on new programs and centers, faculty awards (Columns ‘Kudos’). All news releases are posted on UGA.edu, and many news releases are published in Columns.
