Book-a-palooza

Cine Bar Cafe, 234 W. Hancock Ave.

The UGA Creative Writing Program is celebrating 10 new books published by UGA doctoral candidates in 2015 and 2016. This event will give authors a chance to discuss their projects in an intimate setting, and attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the writers and have books signed.

The books, which range from novels to poetry books, have been published with nationally recognized presses and include some award-winning manuscripts. The doctoral candidates who will be featured include: Gina Abelkop, Colette Arrand, Shamala Gallagher, Jacqueline Kari, Ginger Ko, Matthew Nye, Thibault Raoult, Jake Syersak, Gale Marie Thompson and Lindsay Tigue.

This event also will feature Jenny Gropp, managing editor of UGA's award-winning literary magazine "The Georgia Review," whose first collection of poetry and prose was just published by Kore Press.
