April Brown Hewell

April Brown Hewell is the administrative specialist for Dr. Stephen Mihm and Dr. Neil Lyall.  

Dr. Mihm serves as the Associate Dean of the Humanities, which includes the Departments of Classics, Comparative Literature & Intercultural Studies, English, Germanic & Slavic Studies, History, Linguistics, Philosophy, Religion, and Romance Languages as well as directors of interdisciplinary institutes, which includes African Studies Institute, Center for Asian Studies, Institute for African American Studies, Institute for Native American Studies, Latin American & Caribbean Studies, and Wilson Center for the Humanities & Arts.  Dr. Mihm also oversees global engagement and the Franklin College Residential College, while contributing to the advancement of philanthropy and alumni relations.

Dr. Lyall serves as the Associate Dean of the Physical and Mathematical Sciences, which includes the Departments of Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, Statistics, and the School of Computing.  Dr. Lyall also oversees the instructional budgets, workforce planning, enrollment management, experiential learning, and honors for the college.
