Catherine Robson is a professor in the English Department at New York University, where she teaches nineteenth-century British cultural and literary studies; she is also a long-time faculty member of the Santa Cruz-based Dickens Project.  She is the author of Men in Wonderland: The Lost Girlhood of the Victorian Gentleman (2001) and Heart Beats: Everyday Life and the Memorized Poem (2012), and co-editor of The Victorian Age for the Norton Anthology of English Literature.  She is now at work on a new book about the recording of the voices of British prisoners-of-war during the First World War
