The Legacy of a Black Woman

Virtual Event

The Legacy of a Black Woman'' is a 60th anniversary of desegregation event, and it will highlight the success of black female alumni from the University of Georgia.

Many black women have attended the UGA and are now pursuing their careers in graduate school, the job force, or pursuing other endeavors. This event brings women from all areas of life to speak to current students about the impact NCNW and other organizations like BSU have impacted their journeys. Since the desegregation of UGA, there have been numerous black organizations that continue to arise, and these organizations serve a pivotal role in the livelihood of students. Obtaining the stories of these women will offer people a new perspective on how to stay academically sound and actively engaged within their communities.
