MFA at Aurum Studios

Inroads connecting town-and-gown are some of the most important in our localized orbit. Downtown Athens stalwart Aurum Studios is partnering with the Lamar Dodd School of Art to create new opportunities for UGA art students:

The University of Georgia Lamar Dodd School of Art and Aurum Studios in downtown Athens will present the inaugural LDSOA/Aurum Studios Juried Exhibition and Sale April 19 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Aurum Studios, located at 125 E. Clayton St. The juried exhibition presents two-and three-dimensional artwork created by master of fine arts students.

"Whenever I see student work displayed at the art building, I am so impressed with the quality and creativity and feel regret that more people do not have the opportunity to see it," said [Aurum owner Tricia] Ruppersburg, a member of the art school's board of visitors. "While Aurum Studios is primarily a jewelry store, we thoroughly enjoy the gallery aspect of our shop, showing work by artists in many media and being able to brag on them and share their work with the public."
