UGA and Franklin College staff are the people who make our campus work in every way imaginable and this week, staff will be the focus of events to show how much they are appreciated. First up is our Franklin College Staff Appreciation Reception this afternoon at 3 p.m. at the MLC, an annual event that includes the presentition of staff excellence awards and recognition of years of service for longtime employees.
Then on Friday, the University will hold its first Appreciation Celebration:
The event will be held May 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at intramural field 1. It will include lunch, music, giveaways and interactive activities ranging from mechanical bulldog rides to a photo booth.
“Our staff members are vital to the University of Georgia’s success,” said UGA President Jere W. Morehead. “Through their commitment and dedication, we are able to move the university forward as an institution. This event is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to thousands of individuals who support the university in so many ways.”
It takes the best efforts of each and every one of our staff to make the Franklin College and UGA function at such a high level each and every day. It's great to take time to recognize that effort and I look forward to seeing so many colleagues from around campus this afternoon - and on Friday.
