Franklin College podcast series, Unscripted

By:
Alan Flurry

The University of Georgia Bulldogs and the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish will meet in Athens on Saturday, September 21 for the second leg in the home-and-home series between two college football powers. Off the field, the two universities share a vision for scholarly collaboration also in its second year: the Berlin Seminar in Transnational European Studies.

A joint initiative of the Franklin College and the Willson Center for Humanities and Arts and Notre Dame’s Nanovic Institute for European Studies, the Berlin Seminar is week-long residency in early June focused on advancing the discourse on both campuses of issues related to Europe, the E.U, and Germany’s role in the European Union.

The Berlin Seminar is the focus of the new Franklin College podcast series, Unscripted with Alan Flurry. In the inaugural episode, we speak with professor and Franklin College associate dean Martin Kagel, co-director of the Berlin seminar, in a discussion about politics, economics, immigration, art and other highlights from the 2019 seminar.

A partnership with WUGA-FM, the podcast series is another way for us to share in-depth coverage of subjects, issues and people of the Franklin College, the University of Georgia community and distinguished visitors to campus. The podcast discussion format creates a platform for broader engagement with more of the many extraordinary colleagues doing important work on our campus and beyond.

Tune in, and thanks to our colleagues and partners in this new venture.
