We are grateful for the fine work of our faculty, staff, and students, and so happy to see them acknowledged on campus, in the community, and [quite] beyond. A few recent achievements by our colleagues and by Franklin College students:

Mariah Cady, senior in the Franklin College and School of Public and International Affairs, majoring in Russian and international affairs with minors in geography, German, and president of the Native American Students Association, named a 2024 Rhodes Scholar – UGA Today, WGAU, 11Alive, Columbus Ledger-Enquirer 

Marshall Shepherd, Georgia Athletic Association Distinguished Professor of geography and atmospheric sciences, received the 2023 Environmental Achievement Award by the the Environmental Law Institute

Spotlight on the Arts: Adah Bennion, MFA, Studio, Advisor: Isabelle Loring Wallace, was the grand Prize Winner at 2023 4 Minutes, 33 Seconds Contest. The Runners-Up were: Vale Prosper, Ph.D., Theater and Performance Studies, Advisor: John Bray; Keren Sahar, BFA, Graphic Design, Advisor: Grace Jun; and Isabelle Tallman-Jones, MA, Art History, Advisor: Isabelle Loring Wallace

Jennifer Patrick, Franklin College Coordinator of Student Academic Services, received the inaugural UGA New Student Orientation Campus Partner Impact Award

Marshall Shepherd delivered the keynote speech at the The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) Youth Climate Summit

As a third-year psychology major, Emmy Peach took the stage at 2022 TEDxUGA to present on a topic of personal importance—autism in girls and women

UGA School of Computing hosts Research Day at Georgia Center – R&B

Greg H. Robinson, UGA Foundation Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, was awarded the 2023 faculty Blue Key Service Award at university's Blue Key Awards Banquet
