Lecture: David Silkenat

David Silkenat presents a talk on his new book, Raising the White Flag: How Surrender Defined the American Civil War.

Silkenat is a senior lecturer in the School of History, Classics, and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh. He is also the author of Moments of Despair: Suicide, Divorce, and Debt in Civil War Era North Carolina. He is a co-host of The Whiskey Rebellion, an American History podcast.
